Earl Wilson rightly noted, “A vacation is what you take when you can no longer take what you’ve been taking.” Sounds like Captain Obvious to us. Well, here’s what’s cooking at week’s end: sampler sandwiches and barbecued shrimp stuffed po-boys!
What We’re Cooking for Week’s End

Thursday, August 27 — Standard Menu
The sampler sandwich comes rolling into town on our fresh house made bread. Our house made pimento cheese, toasted, comes with our own chicken salad, some bacon, and just a little dab of salad with our house dressing. It’s big, it’s messy, and it’s delicious. Big is better. Think about it: four-wheel drive trucks are not enough, we need monster trucks. Cars with radios and CD players are not enough, we need navigation, satellite radio, and internet service. And, we’re hoping Amazon wins approval to use drones to deliver products to our homes for almost same-day service because mail services are too slow, and we really didn’t want to go to the store in our pajamas. Well, meet our solution: the sampler sandwich. Yes, it will make monster trucks better, cars cooler, and online delivery faster. Who knew a giant sandwich could to all that?
Friday, August 28
Barbecued shrimp stuffed po-boy and a house salad. Take a half-size po-boy, hollow the bread to make a bread cave, stuff it with our own New Orleans style barbecued shrimp (prepped in loads of butter, white wine, and saucy spices), cover it with barbecue sauce, and grab the napkins. “Leo, maybe you could use a vacation,” his friend Dr. Phil suggested after Leo attacked Bob Wiley at a birthday party in What about Bob? “I AM ON VACATION!” Leo blurted, very frustrated with everybody especially his nemesis Bob. Dr. Phil prescribes some pills, but we know that what Dr. Leo Marvin really needed was a barbecued shrimp stuffed po-boy. It will set the world to rights, yes it will, and it just might help you relax amid all the frustrations of your life.

Famous Food Quotes
Earl Wilson so perspicaciously noted: “One way to get high blood pressure is to go mountain climbing over molehills.” Hey, take a vacation, eat some good food, laugh with friends and family — the molehills will disappear.
